50 percent increase in early intervention services over 5 years in North Dakota

North Dakota is dealing with substantial growth in the need for early intervention services (children under 3). The number of children served has grown by 50 percent in the past 5 years.

Unsurprisingly, funding is a challenge.

“It’s not a fault of the people in the system as much as it is a barrier of the system getting out of its own way and providing the care the kids need,” said Young.

There’s a quote anyone in the special needs world understands.

“We need to break down those silos and rebuild the system so it’s one system and not many systems,” said Young.
